It all comes down to nature. God cannot do anything outside of His holy, perfect, just, and righteous nature. He can't sin, can't be unjust, can't be less than perfect, can't be unholy. He can't be less than all-powerful, omniscient, or all-knowing. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient.

Now let's talk about your problem.

Everything that exists has a nature. A tree has the nature of a tree. Birds and fish have natures. You and I have natures. God has a nature.

God's nature is holy, perfect, and just. The nature of humanity is sinful, evil, and wrong. Ecclesiastes 9:3, Genesis 8:21, Jeremiah 17:9 and Romans 3:10-12 all explain that we have a nature that is corrupt and desperately wicked, beyond cure. This is the reason God tells us that "all of our righteous acts are like filthy rags." Because we cannot do any good thing with a good motive. There is always an element of hypocrisy or self-seeking motive for doing "good things." God says, "no one does good, no, not one." You can't stop lying, because when we come into the world, we belong to our father, the devil, and he is the father of lies. We're all seeds of the devil according to John 8:44. This is why we cannot come to God or seek God, unless God the Father draws us to Him (John 6:44, 65) It all comes down to being born of the Spirit, transformed into a new creation. We must have a new nature. A nature that is given to us the moment we truly believe in Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 "If anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation. The old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new."

Also read Ezekiel 36:22-31 and Jeremiah 31:31-34 to understand more of God's regenerating work in salvation.
