Question: Does anyone know about this 10k grant for single moms going back to school?

Answer #1:

Yeah, those ads are misleading. Basically they are ads for companies who want you to sign up for their online schools or something like that. The '10K grant for single moms' is how they trick people to go to their site. There IS a real grant you can get for about that much money, but you do NOT need to be single or a mother or go to their school to get it. They are just referring to standard federal financial aid grants.

All you need to do to get those is fill out the FAFSA [free application for federal student aid]. If your income is low enough [yours should be with 2 kids] you will get the grants. You can get a paper copy at your college or the easier option is to do it online at Click Here Do not do the fafsa.com site or anything other than fafsa.ed.gov because those are companies who charge you for help filling out the forms. You can do it all easily enough on your own though, you just need last years tax info and stuff like that.

edit- I'd recommend going in to the financial aid office also though. They can explain the whole financial aid process to you, and also should know of some other aid like scholarships you can apply for. There may be some actual 'single mom' type scholarships that you could get in addition to the federal aid, or state or private scholarships you may qualify for.
